Is this drive ok for Gigabyte X48 boards?I was told on another site that this can be updated from desk top on VISTA64 without a reinstall.I always like to have the most up to date drivers installed but dont want to create problems for myself.

Re: New intel / raid / storage drivers X48
That driver appears to be the one for Intels OWN x48 board - so No!
For Intel Chipsets though, you have the "Inf" Chipset driver - a Must for Intel based boards, like your X48 &,
If you use AHCI/Raid and wish to upgrade from the OS's Driver (in the case of VISTA) or upgrade from the F6 loaded Intel Driver (In the case of XP), then you need the Intel Matrix Storage Driver/Manager.

Re: New intel / raid / storage drivers X48
You can Install Intel Chipset Drivers as mentioned above, they are universal between boards (Unless you grab a really old one or something funky) and are 32/64 Bit as well.
Second Url is Mutli Board/OS/x86/x64
Download Search Results!
Or you could as also said install the Matrix Storage Manager which would also Update the drivers >>>
First Link for the program is Mutli Board/OS/x86/x64
Download Search Results!
So either or will get the job done
@VorLonUK.
Not trying to step on your comment or anything at all, just wanted to link these for anyone else who reads this thread later so both mentioned would be linked here for all boards/systems
