Re: GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS
Found a bug on the F2B bios released for X99 UD3P / UD4P, using anything other than stock settings for the CPU results in the cache frequency dropping to and staying at 2.4 Ghz after resuming from sleep. Tried everything under the sun including flipping off the OC mode switch for the cache but it does not work unless everything is left on stock or auto.

Re: GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS
z170 boards still have complete crap fan control...where is the custom fan control gigabyte.?! i already set cpu fan to the lowest setting 0.75/pwm & it goes all the way to max 2000rpm & is super loud when the cpu is only about 64c, with my previous asus z77 i was able to enter max duty %, cpu fan never goes over that regardless of temp..
using latest beta f4c for z170x-gaming 5

Re: GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS
f4 final for z170x-gaming 5 is good, they fixed the weird vcore. with f4c setting "normal" used to show 1.265v in bios as vid, 1.24v actual, in OS stress testing showed 1.27v vid load & 1.296v/1.308v actual load & i always have llc off. going below this even -0.01v sometimes made it not post, but the vid in OS was always above what was supposed to be set in bios, temps were 82c.
now with f4, vid & vcore across bios & OS is proper, im now at 1.236v for 4.5ghz (voltage on "normal" still, llc off), temps are 10c lower & i can feel the difference from the fan exhaust so its not just numbers on a screen, its stable, with f4c it couldnt even post much at anything below "normal", 1.264v made the system lock up & bsod in 2 seconds after starting. this is a huge change, much more than "update cpu microcode" gigabyte says..load power consumption is over 10w less, idle is over 1.5w less. it seems to boot easier now, instead of randomly shutting off, hanging, or boot looping even at stock.
but i noticed fclk (system agent clock) is missing now from bios, its locked at 800mhz, why? will it come back? fclk spec for desktop is 1ghz by intel, why remove it & lock us at 800mhz? fan speed control is still crap, i hope this is next on their list..Last edited by GiggaByte; 10-19-2015, 04:41 PM.

Skylake tweaks improve discrete graphics performance - PC Gamer
Why?
I was going to order a Gigabyte board this week, but this and the fan profile problems make me reconsider that, especially since locking the FCLK makes it look like this will be locked permanently at 800 from now on. An absolute no go. :(
