No mater if you are overclocking or not you can lower your idle Vcore by using Dynamic Vcore. This way you can have lower temperatures, lower power consumption.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> You find which is the StableVcore of your system.<o:p></o:p> You Set Vcore to normal and then you set Dynamic Vcore to the value closest to what comes of the subtraction of StableVcore - VcoreNormal. If this is negative we select negative value for the Dynamic Vcore if Positive select Positive value.<o:p></o:p> By the way it seems that at least for me, DES is NOT working, after flashing to the latest beta Bios introducing Dynamic Vcore (F9m for EX58-UD5).<o:p></o:p>
When EIST is enabled, using the latest F9m beta BIOS's Dynamic Vcore (DVID) option for GA-EX58-UD5 prevents waking from S3.
No problems when EIST is disabled, my boot drives are SSD software RAID 0.
Update: Problem resuming from S3 was unrelated to the BIOS.
All intresting stuff. I have the Ex58 UD-5 mobo with the new F9m flashed and have the (DVID) option in the bios but it is greyed out and has a X to the left of so cannot make use of it, any idea's on how to get it to work ???

In Order to have access to the DVID control you first have to change your Vcore setting to normal then you can set de desired value to DVID.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Does anybody else have problems about hard disk detection with F9M for EX58-UD5? I've had this problem with most of the bioses for this motherboard, but with F9E it seemed solved(or it was some kind of astral magical scheme that made it happen)! Now I'm back again in this hell where I can boot with Linux just because I can load a live distro from the cd and then kexec inside of my system on the hard disk. I can't boot any system directly(which means I can't boot Windows at all). At boot time, the bios seems to see the hard disk, when it shows that list of peripherals, but, for example, if I enter bios setup and go to "Standard CMOS Features", all the channels have "None" as value, where instead before(with F9E), I could see my drives. Is it a known problem or am I really the only one who's having it? UPDATE: Nevermind, I solved the problem. Somehow the BIOS had rearranged the boot sequence of my HDs, even if I had set it before. The first 2 drives(once resetted) were 2 USB drives and it seems that my boot-loader has problems booting them. I changed the sequence back to what I had previously set(to boot from my SATA HD) and now everything works fine.
I posted this over at xtremesystems, but I figure I would post it here to get more responses. (I should have stuck with the same forum name if you read multiple forums.)

Love the new DVID option on these new BIOS, but I ran into a problem where you could hear some electric buzzing coming from the motherboard when it's idling and when you run prime or something that forces full voltage it goes away. I think with the overclocks and at idle state the voltage may be a bit too low causing this problem. Maybe allowing us to set the idle vcore would be a good idea.
Has anyone noticed this?
My voltage settings for DVID enabled.
CPU Vcore 1.19375 [Normal]
DVID 0.08125
