I posted this over at xtremesystems, but I figure I would post it here to get more responses. (I should have stuck with the same forum name if you read multiple forums.)

Love the new DVID option on these new BIOS, but I ran into a problem where you could hear some electric buzzing coming from the motherboard when it's idling and when you run prime or something that forces full voltage it goes away. I think with the overclocks and at idle state the voltage may be a bit too low causing this problem. Maybe allowing us to set the idle vcore would be a good idea.
Has anyone noticed this?
My voltage settings for DVID enabled.
CPU Vcore 1.19375 [Normal]
DVID 0.08125
I get the same electrical noise also. Only happens on that bios with c1e enabled. The new feature is great but needs some work
I'm surprised people are so happy about DVID.
If DVID resulted in lower temps and power usage vs the previous BiOS without it, I would be happy as well...but it does NOT.
I'm not sure how the F10h BiOS uses less power and results in lower temps, but the DVID so far seems to be a step in the wrong direction (see my post above on power usage)

It reduces my idle temperatures by around 7C, have you enabled EIST?

Yeah, and if you disable C1E pretty much DVID is disabled too though. Glad to see I wasn't the only one with possibly hardware problems, I'm hoping more will notice/hear this sound too so Gigabyte knows a possible problem with this new option I much want to have.
Unless your Mobo or CPU work differently, DVID is better than DVID disabled, but older BiOS is even better (at least with UD4P & i7 920)
My idle with DVID is about 40C, but older BiOS has 34C idle and of course power usage is the best indicator:
207W older F10h BiOS (no DVID function)
230W DVID enabled (F10k BiOS)
240W DVID disabled (F10k BiOS)
P.S. I have all power saving functions enabled...C1, C3/C4/C5/C6, EIST, etc...and mine resumes from S3 on older BiOS just fine (didn't test it on the newer one)

Update with my problem solved with the help of euonline over at XS forums.
Disable C1E
Enable C3/C6/C7
Now the electric sqeualing/buzzing will go away.
If you are under Win7 or Vista and you changed your power management plan at some point, go and check if the processor power management is set at 5% minimum and 100% maximum in the advanced power options.
Now DVID works! -3c on temps, not as much as others but hell I'm on water and it's even with my gpu idle temp now.
I cant get my GA-X58A-UD7 to boot if a wireless keyboard is in use. It loops at boot, wont make it to the bios, just reboots. A ps2 works fine. Its a denovo edge logitech keyboard. Doesnt matter what BIOS is used.
This happens since trying to install win7, clean install. Wont get past post bios. Plug the wireless in after install, keyboard works fine, leave the wireless keyboard in during rebbot, booting loops again.
Also I still cant get the board to read the correct ram. The ram is Blade 2000hz C9. Its reading as 1066 and the cas is reading at 7-7-7-16 not 9-9-9-30

What I have found running an i5-750 in a P55M-UD2 is that when switching to auto Vcore and a dynamic adjustment, the system was not stable anymore at the previous fixed Vcore used. This may reflect that this system has been tuned to use the minimum Vcore possible to run Linpack (Linx using 6 gigs of memory) for 2 hours. With a 180x20 clock the 1.2125 Vcore in bios is quite low already.

Regarding the squealing noise... I was getting it quite loud on my board when I was using a little 500W PSU. It would only happen when both the CPU and GPU were under load, no matter how much load I put on each one seperately. I have now upgraded to a corsair HX-850 and the squealing noise is still there but it's so quiet I have to put my head inside the case to hear it.
I'll try enabling C3/C6/C7 and see how it goes.

I think if it's under load it probably was the PSU, the squealing is pretty audible for myself with 140mm and 120mm fans spinning. Hope C3/C6/C7 gets rid of the squealing if you still hear it, not a good sound to hear.
