Hello,
I've recently build my new budget gaming computer. EP45-DS3L, e8400, HD4870, 2x2GB G.Skill PC8000, etc.
I have absolutely no stability issues while at auto memory timings, but once I change to manual and set my own, it enters the reboot loop and resets to auto again. The memory is rated at 5-5-5-15 @ 2.0-2.1v. I am manually entering 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1v when it crashes. Mind you this is only at 800Mhz memory speed. Even down to 667Mhz it isn't stable when I enter my own timings.
With the timings on all auto, I was stable @ 800Mhz memory speed (3.6Ghz CPU), and on auto, it had 5-5-5-15, which is what I entered myself. I am so confused.
Why, when on auto, it goes to 5-5-5-15 and is stable, but when I do manual 5-5-5-15, it's unstable? I have raised MCH core to 1.3v and tRFC to 62, as advised on threads i searched for, but to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. (hopefully LSD will see this, he seems to be very knowledgable)
