I have the same problem with a ASRock 770DE3L. After reading the manual, i discovered they wrote something like 'We've tested Crossfire on this board using a pair of 3870 cards'. That explained why it wasn't working when i tested my 5850 cards. So check your manual and see if it's the same thing.

I've read the manual and guess what, up to the Radeon HD 4850 works with crossfire -.-' I have to say I'm a little dissapointed in ASRock. They won't reply to my emails, if they did I would've figured this out sooner. But I still don't understand why a BIOS update wouldn't fix the compatibility issue. Guess ASRock simply stopped supporting the M3A770DE...

Had no idea that it wouldn't support those cards,try pm'ing tsd -Emily she might send you a custom bios to try
