2x getx 460 on p55v

hello anyone, and pc masters..

just want to ask if 2 gtx 460(via sli) can fit on the evga p55v? (I'm planning to get palit 2x gtx 460).. or is it even compatble?

and what is the difference between pcie x8/x8 and x16/x16??

p55v has 2x pcie both x8.

SLI 460's will work fine on that board. Depending on how the SATA3 controler (and USB 3 if it has them) is wired up you may see decreased performance on SATA3/USB3. If you don't use SATA3 it's not a concern.

There is no real world difference between 8x/8x and 16x/16x when using SLI with two single GPU cards. At ultra high spanned resolutions (ie 3 monitors for a total of 5760x1080 or 5760x1200) there may be a 2-3 FPS difference but that's about it. It also varies slightly on a game by game basis but if you're using a single monitor to view your games there is no difference at all.
