Ati radeon 9700se

Iv'e just read a review about this graphics card and i've heard good things about it. what do you guys think about this graphics card?

Don't go with the SE versions, they're absolute crap. I'd get a Non-Pro version or a Pro if possible, though if you're willing to shell out a bit more money, I'd go with a 9800 Pro.

Well, as said, anything SE means they take the same core and just make a card out of worse-performing parts, i.e., slower RAM, underclocked GPU, etc. I would get a 9700 NP or Pro. I dont know what the price of the 9700SE is, but if those other two are too high, go with a 9600XT, I'd imagine it'd be faster. : peace2: Mista K6

Can you post some links to this card? And se doesnt always mean the same thing, there is one exception I know of. A ti4800se is a rename of a ti4400 after adding 8x agp. But yes with ati, se means crap.

With Radeons "SE" means "Spastic Edition" and they use cores that don't come up to non pro standards. The R9800SE has 4 of its 8 pipelines shut down as well as half the memory bandwidth (only 128-bit instead of 256-bit). The core is clocked slower and uses slower memory chips.
The R9600SE's core also clocked slower with only a 64-bit memory interface and slower memory chips plus the same goes for the R9200SE.
The only thing I can't find is a product/retail link to a R9700SE though there are a few forum links (6 in all thru Google).
