Ati Radeon 9600 Pro or 9500 Pro??

Just out of curiousity which card is better overall.. like performance wise and faster speeds??

I was looking at benchmark tests and they both came out pretty damn close..

I think the 9600 pro is better. I should be getting mine soon :bounce2: I like the 9500 pro but overall I reckon 9600 pro comes out just on top.

In actual fact the R9500P is faster than the R9600P due to its architecture which is based on the R9700P where as the R9600P is based on a cut down design as to save on production costs.

I didn't know that. I've seen some benchmarks where the 9600 pro comes out on top only just mind. Thats what I was basing my previous post on. I guess Benchmarks aren't everything.

9500 pro has 8 pipelines, 9600 pro only has 4. It's getting pretty hard to find the 9500's though.

eeeeehh iiiiiiiiiiii disagree. the 9600 would be your best bet. the best one is the tyan. for real. go get a tyan 9600 pro. its easier to find and even though its only got 4 pipe lines you can overclock the f*ck out of it and the tyan clearly beats the 9500 pro in benchmarks...all of them. read the tweaktown.com review of the tyan 9600 pro. im almost positive thats your best bet. plus its cheaper. : peace:

dude281, yes its a good overclocker and will beat the 9500 Pro, but then consider this.....overclock the 9500 Pro and the 9600 can't keep up anymore.

Yes the R9600P does do better in a couple of things but it's labelled as a step backwards when compared to the R9500P overall.

the 9500 hasnt had that great of an overclocking history. the 9600 is more known for its overclocking abilities. i think for the price difference and the availability and extremely close performance, the 9600p is the best bet

thx for your opinions, I have decided which one iam going to get its the Tyan 9500 Pro AGP 128mb 8x.. All the benchmark tests prove its well worth it whoops the 9600 Pro and 9500 Pro Ati.. something about Tyan makes it better.. look for yourself..
