  • Advice or Recommendation On Liquid Cooler Model?

I'm no big time gamer or over clocker but am going to be looking at an auto racing game soon. I run dual 21.5 displays and my system is no state of the art but she does OK. See my signature.
I can see myself upgrading the GPU though. I mainly run the dual GPU's now just to have a spare in there.

Right now I have a very, very bad cheap-o case, one of the cheapest mid-towers Rosewell makes and just ordered a Rosewill BlackHawk

I want to try liquid cooling system and do not need a super-duper unit but do have some extra heat going on in there with all the hard drives. A video & photographer I need every Gig of it.

I have been researching and to my surprise I see Corsair is not so popular as I had imagined. I keep reading of noisy and failing pumps?

So I seek here for some experienced words on a liquid cooling system suited for me?

With case my cores idle in the hi - 40's. And my CPU is lapped to a high mirror finish with the best dab of paste.

I just installed a XSPC Rasa 750 RX240 kit. The radiator fit inside my HAF 922, don't know how it would work with that case but it includes mounts for outside/to case mounting. It is as quiet as whatever fans you have. They also have the RS240 which has a slimmer radiator.
Also depends on your case cooling. I have an Antec Three Hundred Two case for another rig with the Zalman liquid cooler (about the same as the Corsair H80) and have it mounted to the side panel grill.
Another thing to consider is high end air cooling. If you can fit a Noctua NH-D14 (I have one of these also) it works very well. But to be honest I've never owned an AMD cpu and don't know much about what works but I assume most kits have mounts for AMD.
Yet something else to think about, if you are getting a lot of video card heat then just water cooling them would probably net you better results overall.
If you want a no hassle all in one water cpu only cooler then if you can fit the Corair H100 it's a decent cooling unit although the fans are quite noisy if they need to run on highest speed all the time (can swap fans). Whatever you end up doing, do your research to make sure it will all fit in your case.

In the past month I have tested several all in one liquid coolers and for some setups they work fine, but it's been an expensive education.

Thanks, This is going to be fun. Is it me or id the XSPC Rasa 750 RX240 far superior than a corsair H80?

There is a revised addition to the Rasa...the XSPC Raystorm, much better temps across the board (compared to the Rasa, which had really good temps as well); being from Canada, here is 1 link RayStorm CPU WaterBlock (Intel) Special Edition Full Copper RayStorm CPU WaterBlock (Intel) Special Edition [582263] - $119.99 : DazMode PC Watercooling Gear, Canadian Best PC Watercooling and Modding Store or, if you're from the U.S.

First-time water coolers often will buy one of these XSPC Raystorm RX360 Extreme Universal CPU Water Cooling Kit w/ RX360 Radiator and Free Kill Coil! Hot item!! - FrozenCPU.com

It's a great kit; decent fans, thick radiator, compression fittings...all that is needed is some distilled water (+ PTNuke), or custom coolant.
