  • CoolerMaster/CPU Compatiblity

I just moved back from Cali and my dad gave me a box full of PC stuff I had left behind, including a heatsink he had picked up somewhere along the line. Odd thing is, I can't seem to find out much about it; I checked CoolerMaster's page and I searched the interwebs but no luck so far. I almost wonder if it's a knockoff brand. Here's the deal: I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with a Q6600 and stock heatsink, the CoolerMaster is model S2N-73ELS-P2-GP. It "says" it's compatible with an Intel Dual core LGA775, but I didn't know if I could fudge it with a quad core and it would still work. Any ideas?

I would just call Coolmaster. It is the easiest solution. Depending if you father was a hard core overclocker, I would never trust stuff my father handed down to me :P
