  • GA-X58A-UD7 CPU probs

message at beginning recovering lost ram size but after about 3 reboots it will finally boot into o/s. have read this can be caused by damaged pins on the cpu and I did drop the little SOB when cleaning some artic silver from it, and I can see something that looks a little damaged or scrapped or something basically different from the rest of the pins

so what is best...... throw cpu in bin ( i7 920 ) or can you fix it by bending the pins ?

or is the cpu ok and something else is causing the problem ?

The "pins" are on the motherboard, not the cpu itself. You *could* have damaged it but I doubt it. Pictures would help.

Bios update then xmp1 setting fixed my problem when I had this issue.
Did you set XMP1 with your ram?
Try underclocking the ram to see if it will just show all of it's capacity?
