I have tried 2 graphic card, 2 keyboard, 2 mouse, 5 hard drives individually, 3 sticks of working ram Gskill/patriot, f4 bios, f5 bios, all sata ports, tried with no USB attached, bios reset and leaving the battery out for 30 min. I have disabled c3/c6 state and UEFA and some other stuff that I cannot remember.

I have a true head ache as I sent the components back to the retailer and they said motherboard is fine but psu is faulty, I have the system built again and still the fault is there. I have no problems getting into BIOS or booting from usb or disk to install W7, I have managed to install W7 and get into desktop but the PC reboots with a blank screen and start looping again after bios. I can hit delete with the blank screen and get into bios just fine. I have noticed the reboot is happening on fault code 02 which is not documented in the manual.

I have this build outside of the case on a box with minimal installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!, I have contacted the retailer but they said to take it into a repair shop :-/. These items are only a week or 2 old.

Did you try the CBAT-SW? Once pushed the system will not start back up untill you disconnect the 24 pin cable and reconnect again.

Also Gigabyte z87 boards have problems with some PSU because of the 24pin and/or cpu connector. They changed the pins they are now gold and square shape.

Do you have another PSU you can test with?

Yeah I have tried that switch still no luck, I tried a 400w corsair psu but it failed to boot the motherboard. The psu is brand new as the retailer said the last one was faulty, but the same fault persists :-(.

tried with both backup and main bios's flick the bios switch to backup and try

Yeah I have tried backup bios f3, new f4 -f5 and even put the switch to single bios, still nothing.

im thinking they only went as far as the bios to test the board and deemed it ok,maybe they didn't install windows?

all I can think of is to rma the board again directly to gigabyte uk and insist on a replacement board,i don't think its psu,who knows what that faulty psu did to the board? idk

you shouldn't have this much trouble to get up and running it should be plug everything in and away you go

Overclockers on the RMA response put 'Boots windows fine' and that was all :-/. They want me to take it to a repair shop and pay for them to fault find and them RMA.

no just rma to gigabyte,if you email gigabyte and explain what you've tried they will accept it,and it shouldn't cost you postage either,they normally email you a freepost label to print off

I mean what else can it be? it still could be psu incompatibility,that particular make/model with that board? can't be cpu/ram/hdd it only leaves the psu/board

Make sure you have both CPU connectors plugged in, both 8pin and 4pin. I believe I read it will not start with out both plugged in.

Edit - Also try the OC ignition button. Even if board is bad according to Sin0822 this should still work. Its on the bacjpanel, a button with a lightning bolt, press it in half way to engage and it should turn on your PSU, if it doesn't then something is deff wrong. It will most likely jump your PSU(infact its the only safe way to jump a PSU aas the board provides load to all the rails), then press power see if the board turns on.

Make sure you have both CPU connectors plugged in, both 8pin and 4pin. I believe I read it will not start with out both plugged in.

Still no luck with both connected, currently have only the 8 pin and same result with both installed.

Yes both of mine are plugged in, I just tried to refer back to the manual and I cant find where I read that you needed both CPU connectors plugged in. (maybe it was from Sins Review)

I just shut my system down and unplugged the 4 pin connector and the board booted. Plugged 4 pin back in and unplugged the 8 pin and the system still booted.

So I guess I was wrong on that, but I would still recommend using both 4pin and 8pin connectors if you have them from PSU.

Another thing, I was re-reading the first post. You said you tried with 2 video cards, which 2 video cards? Have you tried with built in video?

and what is exactly is the fault again? You were able to install win7 correct? So the system will boot to windows and then reboots it self? Is it stuck in a boot loop where it will not get past bios? Does it show windows starting at all on display?
