  • GA-Z77X-UDH5 ?? NO Way To Fix Main Bios from Backup Bios??

After some odd events I finally switched the SW4 switch to the Backup Bios and my computer works great again. I tried the ALT-F10 and didn't get the copy to the main bios to start.

I then called tech support and was told there was no way to copy from Backup to Main or Main to Backup!!! He said that was only on the older boards!! This does not make sense, a newer more expensive board with less capabilities??

So now my computer is working without the main bios and they said I would have to RMA and send it back?!

    Someone....anyone???

Wow....sounds like whoever you talked to doesn't know much.
Like the guys said, it's Alt+F10 to copy main to backup, and Ctrl+F10 to copy backup to main for Z77.

Re: GA-Z77X-UDH5 ?? NO Way To Fix Main Bios from Backup Bios??

Isn't there some type of timing issue to get either of the copy options to work?
As I recall, Gigabyte had a video where they said that it might be tricky when trying one or both copy options with Sandy and/or Ivy bridge motherboards.

Re: GA-Z77X-UDH5 ?? NO Way To Fix Main Bios from Backup Bios??

If you use a RF KB like I do the timing is really tricky. Even with a wired KB it can sometimes take several tries to get the BIOS copy going.
Hmmm. Wonder if Z87 is using the same keys.........?

Re: GA-Z77X-UDH5 ?? NO Way To Fix Main Bios from Backup Bios??

Well....this is why I come to forums, cause Gigabyte tech support does not even know their own product!!

I tried everything with exception of CTRL + F10 very fast many times with a USB KB. Finally I tried the push power and hold power button until it turned off.....wow....crap....nothing! Then I turned it on and saw a blue message in the middle of the screen labeled DUALBIOS then below it said that the bios was corrupt and was being recovered (have a picture at home..will post if someone wants to see it) and now I have two bios that work perfectly!!!

Thanks to all now I don't have to RMA it and be without!!!

Have a good weekend to all!!

Online switch is easiest way. boot backup BIOS and enter BIOS setup, then switch back to main online and do Qflash.
