    I think it depends on whether "hack" has a Canadian or an American accent.

        The BSOD is caused by the correct driver not being loaded, given what the registry is telling Windows to do with the SATA driver. You can't have a RAID volume as long as the SATA mode is set to AHCI.

        I'll be reinstalling Windows over the weekend. For that should I set RAID mode with the two blues unplugged while installing the OS on the single SSD?

        EDIT: What is the advantage of using hardware RAID over software RAID?

          software raid uses resources from your CPU while in windows (essentially slowing you down) where a hardware raid it happens by the chipset and doesn't affect the CPU.

          and I would setup the RAID as you want it before installing windows. just make sure that you select the proper unallocated space for your installation.
