  • Memory sticks driving me crazy ...

    GA-X58A-UD5 Rvev. 2 + Intel core i7 965XE + 24G Corsair memory sticks 1333 (6x4)

No trouble in Windows 7 daily use, Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool (extended test) or Prime 95.

Multiple and inmediate errors with MemTest86+ 4.20

Overclocked from 3200 to 3733 (by increasing the CPU multiplier). All memory settings to auto.

I've also changed the position of the memory sticks, increased the vtt voltage, changed BIOS and nothing. The same multiple errors just at the beggining of the MemTest86+ test (about 960).

    Any idea? Thanks

24gb is alot of memory, have you tested with just 12gb at a time to see if any of the sticks are faulty?

Probably one bad stick. Try alternating them all one by one in slot 1 until the bad one shows up.

Or better yet as wazz states...thats a lot of memory....without doing a lot of extra testing for stability your probably screwed...

that MB is suppose to support it.. it could also be a bad slot.... I'd run 3 sticks and test, if good then move to the next 3 slots to verify that it isn't the MB... that's quick and easy. then I'd do the individual stick test...
