Guys,
I have a x58a-ud3r with Intel 960 - this is used under Centos as a media Server - it has 8 drives in it.
This box runs 24/7 in my house - i put my killawatt meter on it and it is using about 130w all the time - the reality is that it does very little on an ongoing basis - i would like to wind down the clocks on the CPU to try and save some power - i have set the BIOS to run the CPU at 1.6Ghz - but when looking in Linux it still thinks it has the 4 cores at 3.2ghz and the power useage has not reduced at all
Any idea what i can do with this ?
I am running FH BIOS
