I've seen a few threads where a new Gigabyte video card had issues with current higher end Gigabyte motherboards.
Sometimes it's a motherboard bios issue, but it can also be a problem with the video card in certain motherboards.
It's twice as frustrating when the video card works fine in a different system.

Yes very frustrating well I am going to keep at it. More than likely I will request the RMA and get another one. I know it may not solve that issue but it may be a bad board.

 I think there is a problem with PWM on this mobo. When I bought GA-X79S-UP5_WIFI I started with my "old" Corsair HX1000W PSU and mobo after a half sec went off. Then mobo tried to start again and again went off. I have a couple of PSUs in my stash so I took PC&C 750W Mk II and mobo started without major problem (only the BIOS was Corrupted so dual BIOS has been automatically activated). Then I changed the PSU and took Corsair AX860i and... I heard just a weird sound from the PSU (something like short circuitry) and PSU actually looks like already broken (I have to check it with other mobo).

My guess: mobo has serious issues with 3d Power (PWM) which activates protection circuitry (which one?) in some PSUs (only Corsair?).

Wonderful news I contacted their tech support and the gave me some instructions and it worked. Seem grounding was the issue it was shorting the board out I took every thing out of the case and it booted. I put I back In the case and it didn't boot. So I figured that some thing was touching the board. It was the standoffs 3 of them were some how touching the board . The screws I uses were to big and they toe up the threading causing the board to come in contact with the standoffs. I changed them put it back I nth e case and it worked. I updated the firm ware and the board is working perfectly so far!!!

Just wondering, anybody have trouble with the 1.25x strap? I've tried dropping the multi, upping voltages, dropping memory speeds. Can't get it to engage. Do the turbo settings need to be enabled or disabled? All power saving functions are turned off. What about vt-d etc? ... All that happens the 2 miss boots and then a third resetting things. Kinda stumped...

This exactly is what I guess as well. The Mobo has serious PWM problems seeming to activate protection circuitry. It has already blown a brand new Corsair HX850 PSU and video card Gigabyte GTX670 OC 2GB. I now have it up and running with a Bequiet 850W and an old GTX260 video card but there are still issues. When starting up the board the video card is forced to run fans at full speed which might be normal and I just notice it now with this video card. Sometimes BSOD happens when using soft off. I currently use Bios F3 but before I have used F4w. I think this will be my last Gigabyte board as well as Gigabyte video card. The Gigabyte support also is not helpful at all.
