  • GA-790FXTA-UD5 and 3TB HD, should I avoid it and stick with 2TB?

    I need to update the Backup HD on my Home Server, I'm running a 2TB as my main HD and I do Backups to multiple drives as I don't have a single drive with the proper capacity.

    I'm looking at getting another 2TB drive, but see for $40 more I can get a 3TB but know I might have an issue. I don't see a bios update for my board that will get me the required support. so should I save myself the headache and just stick with getting a 2TB drive?

    let me know your thoughts.

    or what if I go with (2) 1.5TB drives in a RAID0? would I still have an issue with the 2.2TB cap with this board? would the RAID have an issue with that or is the issue only with single 3TB drives?

    Vin

    EDIT: I'd also like to add this 3TB drive will be a secondary drive and not an OS drive... should I still have concern?
