    Hi:

    X58A-UD5 FF3 BIOS + Intel i7 965XE (C0/C1)

    I have overclocked my system up to 4 GHz CPU (133.33x30): Vcore (BIOS) 1.425
    Under load (prime95) ET6 shows 1.36 Vcore and 1.392 at idle.

    How could I use LLC and dynamic Vcore to lower that voltage at idle?

    Set llc to level 1, set vcore to normal and then set dvid to desired value. Example 1.4v is needed in bios. normal cpu vcore is 1.25 (your value may differ). 1.4 - 1.25 = Dvid 0.15v You will have to play around to get load voltages.

        Sorry for bumping old thread but i hope that it is better then to open a new one.

        I have X58A UD5 rev 2 and 920 CPU.

        Currently I'm using 191x19 (3,63GHz) for which my chip needs 1,175V (shows as 1,168 in Windows) and 1,22 uncore. Tems are ok, CPU idles at 2,29 GHz which is also ok but I would like to know how to lower voltage at idle.

        Problem is that BIOS sees normal voltage for my CPU as 1,212V. How could I get 1,175 for load and lower for idle?

          set your cpu voltage to normal and see how much it uses in the bios,then use dvid - to undervolt the cpu,if your chip uses 1.212v then subtract 1.175v from it = -0.037v and type that into dvid

            Wouldn't I that way get idle 1,175 and 1,212 under load? I tried experimenting but most of time system could not get into windows 8. I'll try some more...
            What ebout C1E and C6 halt states? I keep them on...

              not if c3/c6 and eist are enabled,it should drop to below 1v at idle,and full 1.212v at load,

              1.175v is the cpu vid at full stock clock speed in the bios when you set to normal

                Thanks, you were right - it works
                Now it idles at 0,896V.

                EDIT: yes it works but it causes random freezes in windows (also in games). Will have to look into it. For now i got back to fixed voltage.
