Installed et6, read qpi/vtt voltage and manually added to BIOS, I'm back to the 3 clicks again, so as long as its normal for when you overclock that high then I guess I'm good to go, ill just run another 20 runs on ibt to make sure

I'm on the 11th run out of 20 so far so good, averaging 52 gflops at 146 seconds, since I oc.d the dog next door as been howling LOL, do you think its giving off a high pitch noise or something? I sometimes get the odd electrical squeak out of my speakers when something requires a lot of cpu, maybe there's a higher pitch that I can't hear?

Passed Intel Burn Test , no problems, 20 runs, 8 threads, very high stress test, cant go to extreme unless i eneble the page file, so, ill take your word for it ace, doesnt look like its unstable so, like you said, must just be checking settings to make sure there safe.

If I remember correctly my system will click 1-2 times normal some times 3. If I am trying a overclock for the first time that has not been test it may click 3-4 times before boot.

            To me everything sounds normal/ok.

Re: GA-X58A-UD3R v2 Instant resets at switch on with 4ghz overclock

Hi, just want to report that the last couple of days ive had no resets, soon as i switch on it beeps then boots, but, this morning its gone back to the 3 resets again, i do believe this is a bug not a safety check, also i noticed after a few reboots my spin up time decreases, i have to reflash the bios to get my spin up time back to a decent speed, if it was the hdd itself then bios reflashing wouldnt make a difference which it does, i think my board is coming to the end of its life. To be honest, i think it was dodgy from day one, i should of rma,d but because it boots i kept it, didnt want to end up with something worse.Anyway, ill be getting a new cpu and board in the next few weeks, can i get some advice, should i get x79 or get the z77 and get the 2700k untill 6 core is released, what is the best cpu, will ivy bridge out perform lga2011 when its released?. Would dual channel and quad channel make any difference in gaming.
