Your Newegg link for your motherboard shows that you have a GA-Z68XP-UD4 motherboard.

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-Z68XP-UD4 (rev. 1.0) shows several different bios sizes for your rev: 1.0 motherboard. Note that the most recent bios for your board is F6F, a beta bios that offers "Improve ISRT+MARVELL RAID compatibility".

Ok,.. relax people.

I am currently bench testing (as in on a bench)
Cooling is under control.

Current CPU cooler is stock, but will install my Skythe Mugen 3 before hard install into case and testing.
(I am however looking for a suitable cooler in the colour black designed for the i5 2500k.)

Dram timmings are 9-9-9-24 both channels
@ 1.5v (rated @1.5v) check links on original post.

I outlined my procedure earlier

Currently on Bios F2.
Will update Bios once memtest passes with 2 dimms.
With 1 Dimm installed I have passed memtest 10 full loops + 10 loops test number 5
Now testing with 2 Dimms.....
Back in 1 hr...

Additional note, check GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-Z68XP-UD4 (rev. 1.0) for the latest versions of the Gigabyte utilities.

If you need to use @BIOS for bios flashing, don't use the version on the GB DVD, download the latest version available from the UTILITY download link.

Passed 2 full loops memtest (all tests) currently on test # 5 @10 loops.

Was 34 after half hour idle in bios

Update: 15 loops mtest # 5 passed
Running Mtest #4 10 loops at the mo

Will post new core temp after memtest # 4 10 loops has passed
System uptime closing in on 3+half hours.

EditCore temps at 40 after completion of tests (ouch)

If I can find my 1156 clamps for my Skythe Mugen cooler I will install it. (They are compatible with 1155)

What frequency you have the ram at?
Probably dont have to change anything for stock, HPET 64-bit mode maybe, and one tick or two above default VTT/QPI to be on the safe side while installing windows, untill you can test it.

just write
all your bios settings down or print screen? then load optimised defaults,it should reset to stock settings?im currently testing an asus z68v pro,managed to clock to 3.8ghz with intel cooler,got to 4.3ghz very easy but cant stress test with this cooler,i need to use my old cooler on it

I have loaded optimized defaults.
Ram frequency on Mtest reported 649. (1300Mhz)

I will be running @ stock until intial testig is complete.

Build nearly finished. Installed Skythe Mugen Cooler.
1 top mount 140mm fan,
1x 120mm exhaust/rear,
1x 120mm CPU fan blowing up and into heatsink
1x140mm Intake front bottom.

Will modify later

Side Note: Corsair Force GT 60GB SSD has crap, I repeat crap sata cable conection (click conectors wont click and standard cables come loose).

For now my answer is it's black and looking good.

About to Install Windows now,.

Will attempt driver preinstall (F6 inside windows install)
Will also attempt this

Note: I had 1extra sata cable plugged into my Sata 3-2 port for my HDD but not connected. I was unable to enter BIOS!
removed cable from motherboard and no problem since.

ahh didnt realize you havnt installed os yet,dont forget to set to ahci mode in bios for your sata 3 ports and ssd,before you install os,btw i think win7 automatically aligns to 4k anyway? not sure on that though

sure,profjim knows more about ssd's though,im still an ssd virgin,just keep your old install on your hdd and delete off what you dont want/need regarding os files ect
