  • How to flash beta bios larger then 1 mb?

My motherboard GA-x58a-ud3r need an update of bios.
I try to load beta F5 and the q-lash giving me error (file to large).
The old flash was 1mb size this one is over 2mb.
I try to use FLASHSPI.EXE but do know how since the flash is 2 mb and wont fit on floppy.
Can you tell me step by step how to?
I do not want to try the windows gigabyte program @Bios since 90% failure claim by other users.

you have to use @bios,its safe if you use the latest version, then you can go back to using qflash, qflash doesnt support newer bios's untill you update it using @bios,then once qflash is updated(through @bios) you can continue to use it

Re: How to flash beta bios larger then 1 mb?

Since we all are "Double Posting" ill post this here also so if people do a search they will find it.

You need to use @bios to flash since the bios file size changed from 1024 to 2048 kb. This is still the case with a unmodded bios. I recommend downloading the latest version of @bios and the unmodded update bios.

Once you have those things and @bios is installed. It is recommend you boot into the bios load optimized defaults Press F10 to save and reboot.

If your system can boot to windows with no other changes then let it other wise reenter the bios and only change what is needed to boot to windows.

Once in windows open @bios. Make sure the check the option to clear dmi pool data. And then update to the new modded bios.

Reboot enter bios and load optimized defaults again. Save reboot.

Same thing here let it boot to windows or make chanes and then let it boot. You may see it update the back up bios to match the main bios. If not let the system boot to windows. Then choose shut down but up holding the alt key then when the system starts press the F12 key and it will prompt you to copy main bios to back up bios.

Note You only have to use @bios this one time. Only because q-flash does not like files size change. Now any newer bios that come out you can flash the old way with q-flash.

Are you using this latest version of the @bios and along with the correct bios for you board? Thats about all there is to it. Try uninstalling @bios and reinstalling again.
