    Hi all

Couple of questions, as I can't see a definitive (idiot proof) answer :)

I'm currently running F7d BIOS - is this newer or older than F7? I'm not clear if they lose the trailing character when they are released, or if betas are released following a mainline, before going to F8?

Also, under F7d, my SATA3 port 0 doesn't seem to behave. I plugged in an SSD (Crucial M4) to get the Intel RST acceleration, and the Intel RAID BIOS ignored it, whilst the AHCI BIOS said I had 6 ports (correct) and 5 devices (correct - 4 x HDD in RAID5 and 1 x SDD) - then it froze for about 30 seconds, before telling me there WAS a device on port0 but reported no name :(

Moving to port 1 and everything works.

I had a similar issue with my SATA DVD+RW drive in Port 0 - it wouldn't be recognised to boot the machine to install the OS...

BIOS related? or possibly duff board? (everything else seems happy, and yes, I've tried different cables) :)

    Cheers

    Mr P.

F7d is beta to F7. Finale bios loss the letter.

All drives are connected the intel controller? the SSD is your boot drive connected to sata3_0 port, 4 hdds plugged in to sata3_1-4 ports? and the dvd drive is in sata3_5 port?

SATA ports 0,1 are the SATA 3 ports on the Intel controller, and the SDD is in port 1.

SATA ports 2,3,4 & 5 are SATA 2 ports on the Intel controller, and have 1 x 400GB HDD in each, in RAID5 (named Volume0 - which is the boot drive). The SDD on port 1 is providing RST acceleration.

The Intel controller is set to RAID mode (to support the above)

SATA ports 6 & 7 are on the Marvel controller, set to AHCI mode and my DVD+RW is in there, behaving happily.

Basically port 0 seems to be problematic, all other ports are happy.

I'll fiddle the BIOS to F7 in a bit (after backing up!)
