Hi there
Sorry for the noob questions but I have been reading about the problems some people have been having with BSOD and SSD's going missing over at the OCZ forums (which I too have experienced intermittently). It appears there may be some incompatibility with Intel drivers and the SSD.
Some are suggesting to use the msahci drivers which come with Windows 7 in preference to the iaStor drivers which are installed with Intel's Rapid Storage Technology (RST).
As I like to run a lean machine without unnecessary drivers and software, I have a couple of questions relating to the drivers available for my board at the gigabyte website GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-P67A-UD4-B3 (rev. 1.1)
As I am not running RAID, but am in AHCI mode with my SSD connected to a 6GB/s SATA III interface, which of the following do I need / not need and why?
1) Intel INF installation?
2) Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI)?
3) Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST)?
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but the GBT site doesn't appear to explain it, and seems to assume a fairly high level of knowledge. Do I just install everything that's available and be done with it?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Theo.
