Q Flash error: Incorrect file size???

When I try to use Q flash from a USB thumb drive, I get an "incorrect file size" when trying to open the correct current bios file. I was upgrading from F6i to F8a, but it would not take the F* version. I was able to get it to accept a couple of the F7 versions.

Does anyone know how to get around this?

If you look at the file size of each of the bios the old ones were 1MB or 1024kb. The new files are 2mb or 2048kb. You need to install the "Latest" version of @bios to flash the new larger bios. When flashing with @bios it is suggested you boot into windows with stock settings. Start @bios make sure to put a check in the box to clear dmi pool data. Then flash with the new bios. On reboot enter bios and choose "Load Optimized Defaults" press "F10" to save and reboot.

From there you can continue as normal or 1 more step to follow before reapplying overclock settings; it is suggested to update the back up bios so it matches the Main bios. TO do this at boot up press "ctrl+F12" or "Alt+F12" (I can never remember which does which). and it should boot up asking do you want to copy the main bios to the back up bios.

You will only have to use @bios this one time. Any newer bios you can flash with q-flash as it will be updated now to handle larger bios file size. If you want to go back to one of those older bioses you will need to use @bios again to flash back.
