Re: GA-EP45 UD3L mobo, overclocking noob here...

Be sure you choose a memory multiplier with B on it if you are using 333-400 FSB.

You may need to try 1.2-1.24 MCH voltage, and no it is not normal for memtest errors.

Have you tested the sticks at stock settings, one at a time? If not try that, maybe just one is bad.

Re: GA-EP45 UD3L mobo, overclocking noob here...

im currently at work, so when i get home, im going to clear CMOS, load optimized defaults and run memtest and see if i get any errors.

is the best way to clear CMOS by removing the battery or using jumper? I dont have any jumpers.. all my drives are SATA drives and they dont use jumpers.

          How are these temperature readings?

Why is Core 0 and Core 1 Temps off by 11degrees? is this normal?

If i increased the CPU Host Frequency, i would need to adjust MCH Frequency Latch and System Memory Multiplier so that my the Memory Frequency is 1066, otherwise it would become unstable?

My PC2-8500 holds up to DDR-1080 but with 2.1v
Leave MCH Frequency Latch on auto, just select the apropriate multiplier.
SMM 2.040B usually work, you will likely need to increase tRD(Static tRead Value) to 8, this should be good up to 450MHz FSB.
Try to put some load (Prime95) and see what is the core temp difference then, maybe one DTSs are stuck, they should start changing under load.

I couldnt find the tab to add this to my sig, so i will post it here.
I updated the information from http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post295784 that lists the steps to add your hardware list to your forum signature.
                The first step now reads:

Re: GA-EP45 UD3L mobo, overclocking noob here...

As I recall, others had problems with the standard MCH Core voltage settings with some GSkill 4GB memory models.
Setting MCH Core = 1.05 volts often solved the problem.

You might have stuck cpu core sensors, where the core temperatures never go below a certain value. My cpu core temps are 40o & 35o (C) at idle, even when the room temperature is below 18o.

Some have problems when CPU Host Frequency is set to 400MHz. Try 399 or 401MHz.

Have you tried running Memtest86+ with only one memory module installed.

No it cannot be fixed, but if they will start moving above 50c it's not a problem.
