Re: P67 UD4 bios update problem

Ive read that you have to flash with @bios to the newer bios's,then go back to using qflash,@bios and dual bios is much safer on those boards so don't worry

Re: P67 UD4 bios update problem

Checksum is normal, as long as you see 4 digits you are good to go and can flash away.

As mentioned above though if you get invalid image size or invalid BIOS you will need to use DOS/FlashSPI or @BIOS.

But it sounds like you are already using the newer BIOS format otherwise you wouldn't have got the checksum in Qflash, so you can go ahead with Qflash if it lets you proceed after the checksum.

I believe LSD has said as long as the check sum is 4 characters bios is ok. (LSD correct me if I am wrong)

But like wazza said yes new bios you have to use @bios instead of q-flash but that is only if you are going from old bios file size 1024 kb vs new bios size 2048 kb file size. New bios size is larger because of added in efi for +3tb hdds. Once you are flashed to the new bios you can use ALT+F12 at boot to flash back up bios to the new one if you like or not. After that you can continue to use q-flash for all other updates.
