    Re: Memory compatibility confirmation

Ram was actually set to 1.86v oops typo

    Anyway I tried up to
    Vcore 1.5
    Vtt 1.46
    Pll 1.56
    Mch 1.36
    Dram 1.7

    And it didn't post

So you think maybe the ram voltage is the issue which is why I probably need the older higher voltage ram?

      Re: Memory compatibility confirmation

No, I think it's just the memory type. As I mentioned before, and you were told by the technicians, this type of memory just isn't designed to run on these boards.

I've seen a few users be able to get it going, but not many. The older higher voltage ram would be much easier to get going yes, but not at 1600, that would still be hard too.

You should try 1333Mhz for now and then move up towards 1500 after you get 1333Mhz tested and stable. For 1333Mhz you can try 6-8-6-20 timings, or possibly even 5-7/8-5

i have had 1540 @ 6-7-6-15 with the gskills should i just be happy there until some older ram pops up in the classifieds? or just sell the qx9650 and the p45t extreme and chip in a couple of bucks and go sandybridge? LOL

          Re: Memory compatibility confirmation

That sounds good, the Mushkins can probably do that or better.

I've ran similar sticks at 5-8-5 and 5-7-5 at and close to 1600, so I'm sure you could probably do 5-8-5 at least at 1333-15xx.

Yes, Sandy Bridge would be a great move, if you are ready!

AMD Bulldozer is coming out later this year, maybe it's worth waiting and see where the wind blow.

              Ahh, pass on that!

5Ghz with P67 would be a great move for you now coming from 775!

                  Re: Memory compatibility confirmation

Hey, MushkinSean asked you some things over at the Mushkin forums, very much in line with what I've been mentioning.

P67 is a beast for sure, and would be a great upgrade from 775 if you are looking into it!

Most do 4.5-5Ghz on air EASY!
