Re: I need help with making my newly built PC stable

I have one a passmark burn in test for 15 minutes and nothing crashed so seems to be stable, only one concern that when i first turn my pc on it seems to have a mind of its own, it will startup rather slow and then not load past the windows 7 splash screen, if i turn it off or go into bios but not actually change anything it will boot fine

Re: I need help with making my newly built PC stable

could be a cold boot issue which suffers depending on what brand/model of ram,try disabling any unused things in the bios, like floppy drives and drive a,any gsata ports ect

its not the ram its probably bios not supporting it fully yet, once pc is warm its fine? only from cold? some makes of ram suffer from it

Re: I need help with making my newly built PC stable

Yea its a weird one, i have been thinking it might be the new surge board because it has a kill feature that turns off any power, and also there was a power option in the bios about when the power is cut, e.g the "soft on", "full on" and "memory" options i have turned to full on

Re: I need help with making my newly built PC stable

Looks like all those are 01a BSOD's, as noted in the BSOD this is memory related.

Can you give us a link to your memory, and your current settings in full in a template from my signature

I am going to buy some high spec cooling equipment before i run any high end burn tests, one extra thing though, it not isn't booting past windows 7 splash screen, after awile it finaly does (5 times or so) and then will not shutdown. Any idea what could be causing it?

Do you think that has anything to do with it not booting or should i be checking other things?
