    Greeting all and hello all,

I have recently purchase the GIGABYTE GA-H57M-USB3 and the situation at this moment is: there is no video coming out from it. What is more troubling for me is the monitor, vga port, comes on for 1 second and then quickly turns off. I am fairly certain that I had plug in all of the wires in the correct position. Please also do note that this computer was build from the ground up. If anyone can help, I would be most thankful for the assistance.

Here is a layout of all of the parts that are with it:

WD Caviar Blue Hard Drive - 500GB x2
GIGABYTE GA-H57M-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel H57 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX
    RaidMAX 630W
    GV-N450OC-1GI GeForce GTS 450 x1
    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
    Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield 2.8GHz 8MB
    IN WIN Dragon Slayer case

the i5 760 doesnt have the built in graphics chip, you need a graphics card,or a i3 530/i3 540 chip to use the motherboards onboard graphics as those chips have the gpu built into the cpu

as for your graphics card have you tested it in another machine? or turned off onboard graphics in the bios?

          Re: GA-H57M-USB3 problem

No point of plugging to the motherboard because the Core i5-760 does not have an integrated graphics.
Is the monitr new or have it proved to work before?

            Re: GA-H57M-USB3 problem

@chiki I have tested the monitor myself on an older computer and still works fine. I just tested the monitor on my little laptop: still works.

@wazza300 I did take out the graphic card and tried to see if anything pop up: which was nothing. I dont have any computers that would accept the slot for the graphic card.

              Re: GA-H57M-USB3 problem

Try taking out one memory module, and make sure the card is properly seated. Try the other module if still no go.
Next step I would try a bench test out of the case. Make sure you disconnect the power when you install/uninstall components, discharging the PSU by pressing the power after it is disconnected from power is also a good idea.

@chiki I just tested with only 1 memory chip, nothing. I move the graphic card to the other slot, nothing. I am starting to think it is doa.

Could be doa board, vga card, or PSU. Sslim chance that is the CPU or both of the memory modules.
                      Did yuo connect the ATX_12V(4pin)?

                          Re: GA-H57M-USB3 problem

for the time being, I am going to have a friend have a look at it and see what is going on. From there, i will find out if it is either the MB or the graphic card. I already know the PSU is working fine since every other fan (x4) is working in it. I even see the fans on the graphic card spinning as well.

@chiki if your talking about the plugs that are located at the 10 clock position, yes i did plug in the PSU wires into it.
