Re: Having problem with GA-P55 motherboard after installing 2x2 gb ddr3 1333 bus ram.

    I was using - dram 1.60v, qpi/vtt 1.210v, cpu 1.21875v.
    Now I'm testing with this:
    dram 1.64v, qpi/vtt 1.190v, cpu 1.21875v.

you might be better off with another brand of ram if you can get it stable, like corsair or kingston ect, some brands have issues and you shouldnt really need to tweak that much for 4gb and 1333mhz speed

Hey bro, i would love to get kingston/corsair/ocz ram. But the truth is, in my country those brands ram are unavailable in the market. So I had to buy silicon power.
Now tell me, is this becomes dangerous to tweaking my system like this?

yes i understand,no it shouldnt hurt anything, but the ram should run at its rated 1.5v without problems if not then its no good, you could try emailing gigabyte and ask them to send you a custom bios for that ram? maybe it would help, its not the ram its the bios not supporting it fully like the more popular brands

Try 1.55-1.6V for your ram, it will be fine

I emailed to GIGABYTE as wazza300 suggested.
                        They replied:
                        Dear Rana,

Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. About the issue you mentioned, attached is the latest version BIOS for the motherboard. You should be able to update it and try again later. After bios updating, please do not forget to load BIOS fail-safe default setting and please also do not try to overclock your system at this moment.

I did exactly they told me to do. Updated BIOS from F8 to F9. Loaded BIOS fail-safe default setting. But still I'm getting the damn blue screen. Here's the message I'm getting from windows error reporting:

Start over in the BIOS, this time load Optimized Defaults, then save/aply/reboot F10 Back to the BIOS.

Then set your ram voltage to spec, if 1.65V ram set 1.66V, then set QPI/Vtt to 1.2-1.3 and see how things go.

7e is often memory, so be sure your timings are not set too tight as well.

                            Ram timing is:
                            9 9 9 - 24 (stick 1)
                            9 9 9 - 24 (stick 2)

That should be fine, do you have the voltage set and have you tried various QPI/Vtt amounts?

Have you tested one stick at a time with memtest86+? If not please do, then see if there are any differences, maybe one stick is bad, or both?

Re: Having problem with GA-P55 motherboard after installing 2x2 gb ddr3 1333 bus ram.

I did memtest86+ 3 times. 1st 2x2 stick, then 1 stick and then the other stick.
No error found. Here's the results:

I loaded optimized defaults and set voltages like this:

Result: I got a blue screen during start-up.

Then I loaded optimized defaults again and this time I haven't tweaked voltage settings:

Result: Windows starts normally for now.

                                Here's some images from BIOS:

N.B: Both rams are rated 1.5V.
