Have you looked at Dell or Dell Outlet? They have nice monitors, and the refurbs are usually fairly cheap priced and they work/look great.

Make sure you get an Ultrasharp though, those are the better ones

Try a 24" ACER H243H. 1920x1080 HD monitor, good price @ under $200. I have been using one for more than 10 months. So far so good.

Fry's always have them on sale.

Re: Off topic - Monitor HELP ME DECIDE ;)

The ASUS ones are nice. Depends what screen type they are. I'm guessing they're TN ones? If they're good quality, and I'm sure they are, then that's OK. The TN ones have great response times but poorer image quality than more expensive IPS/E-IPS ones.

the Dell 2209WA is a great suggestion! I have one and it's SO nice to look at, both asthetically and actual image quality wise it's 99% perfect. Comparing it to my old TN pannel (not a cheap one) Crysis looks to real and the jungle looks so vibrant. Total immersion IMO.

People say that IPS has a poor response time and ghosting and that the ones that don't are over driven and have input laf. This is not the case with the Dell 2209WA as it's Enhanced IPS with minimal input lag. More lag than a TN but only noticable with proper measuring equipment IMO. Only the most sensitive individuals will notice any difference at all.

I have no issues getting a larger monitor. I was just afraid that my system wouldn't be able to keep FPS up high enough to game at 1900x1200+ resolutions.

Within the next month, Im upgrading my GTX285 to the new MSi GTX460 Hawk - Talon Attack.

Do you feel Ill be able to game successfully with my current system + the 460 at 1900x1200+ res?

If so Ill go with that acer for sure!

Re: Off topic - Monitor HELP ME DECIDE ;)

The monitor I mentioned, and a lot of other larger monitors like that, are 1920x1080 anyway, not the 1900x1200 like you mentioned.

So you should be ok, and even if not you would then be able to adjust the games to use a lower res such as 1680x1050 anyway.

I'm not sure what monitors are best as I do not game myself, so I'll let others help you along with your actual choices.

Good luck finding the one you like, I know it can take forever to choose a monitor!!
