So there is a well documented problem with the F6 bios of the GA-X58A-UD7 board that a G19 and a Razer mouse will cause problems such as not letting the system post or (in my case) cause the system to boot with no detectable GPU.
However, by complete luck, I found that if I go into Advanced BIOS features and change the first boot device from Hard Disk to USB-HDD that everything works fine. The system boots normally and there are no problems whatsoever.
I have no idea why this works and was wondering if anybody could explain it to me.
