i dont have the realtek drivers installed from gigabyte,i use the ones built into win7,they install themselves if u un install the ones on the mb cd,do you mean this device? sorry i dont know much about it as i dont use optical sound,in win7 right click the speaker and select playback devices and this will pop up

when did you install windows? its strange that you cant access it,look in device manager for any yellow triangles and right click and choose scan for hardware changes maybe it will install something,or try roll back driver
if you un install the sound drivers and restart it should install drivers itself from within windows

try these intel inf drivers,they include the sound drivers as ive updated mine and it gives me additional sound options now
