maybe its you cooler being a flat type,just keep your eye on things now as your using the pc from day to day,as long as its stable in games/desktop its rare you will ever stress it 100% and if you did it wouldnt be for long,only other option is to lower your oc or maybe buy a better cooler like a prolimatech megahelems

I can confirm (grudingly) that this cooler isn't as efficient as it's touted to be. In my opinion, anything above 3.8 and you should start looking for another cooler. At 3.5GHz it does a decent job with my setup, especially since moving to Cooler Master's HAF X case. Idle 44ish, load 74ish. Not bad, but at higher clocks....

ok no worries, feel a little foolish .. I intended to get the NH-D14 but the outlet didn't have it in stock ! ... tks once again for all your help wazza ... TT! = wonderful forum.. board!

(I have a spare .. zalman CNPS9500 AT .. (orange type) .. its a .. sideways facing ? cooler ... worth the swap? it is a little old right?) .. lol

LOL - I have that cooler as well. Had it on my system till I moved to the Noctua. I can't say if it'll do any better though. Also make sure you have/get the 1366 adaper for it. It won't work on that board without it. - ::: Zalman, leading the world of Quiet Computing Solutions :::

ha, great stuff sygnus21 ! it worked good on my old pc .. if I where to get an adapter plate 1366 etc? it would draw the air up out of the case? on my old mobo .. I think it was ... from .. .left to right .. (exhaust fan direction_) I'm more than relatively happy iwth my overall pc configuratipon/ set up now .. to the point of it starving me from sleep ... approximately 5 minutes after dialling in overclock / better memory settings .. ... the tower has harnessed my soul!! xD GIVE IT BACK!

its best to go for the most popular/performing cooler which is the prolimatech megahalems although it doesnt come with any fans but two fans in push/pull like the noctua fans should be fine with that heatsink,i feel the same about my cooler good reviews but performance isnt that great, 775 socket coolers arnt built for 1366 sockets,even with adaptor plates they just dont perform like 1366 designed units

ah well .... I just payed for a cooler so I dont feel like going to pick up a new one anytime soon ... on a more .. positive ? note .. my temps have really subsided? ... maybe the thermal paste settled? (200 hours?) I think I read somewhere, or maybe something ...

oh.. I said the gpu's where xfx & uhh .. asus .. they are .. . . infact. . ahem .. goklgdfs pfft. . gduh .. ,fs .. gigabyte ones ... what would you have the fan speeds on ? I enabled ... EIST and C3 C6 C7 .. . .
