    did some tweaking last night. Raised uncore and dropped memory timings a bit.

            just one 5770,what bios are you using? beta bios or final? ive heard some beta bios's have problems with crossfire? you might want to try the latest official bios from gigabyte

            EDIT: acebmxer you should try with 4ghz-4.2ghz clocks and multithreading and see what gpu your score is,it should be higher,cant wait to see what your 5850 scores

                beta bios is like a tweaked/testing bios not like a final bios you see on gigabytes website,yours should be that fast also especially in crossfire as they scale upto 50% with 2 gpu's,sapphire are a good brand,my old card was a sapphire one too but there all ati cards just passed on to manufacturers to add on their own coolers and tweak ect

                      Its like cpu-z validations
                      The pc stays stable for a benchmark to register.
                      More cores more threads helps too.
                      I mean poor old me on a 775 quad and Im jealous .

                      Joking a little.but dont go wild on "here is what i can get for a 5 min benchmarkand it doesnt mean much in realworld running"

                        Yeah its all fun and stuff thats all :) A real test would be something like ConverXtoDVD My q9650 4275 mhz would take lets say 15-20 min to convert a Xvid movie to dvd where my i7-930 at 4200 @ 4c/4t takes 10-15 min for the same movie. I havent had to convert a movie yet on my 920 but i sure it would be close. still 5 -10 drop is nice

                          I think I have the answer why my 5770 is slow but I haven't had time to prove it

                          Because of the i7 P55 architecture, if the two pci express slots (x16 and x8) are occupied, the board will operate as x8 speed. I think this is why my single 5770 (in crossfire setup) is slow in the gpu test.

                            it could be,ive read that 16x and 8x doesnt affect frame rates much but i cant be sure myself,it could be down to tri channel memory and dual channel too,you need to uninstall one card and test with one in 16x to confirm that its the 8x slot slowing things down,your framerates are low you should be getting the same as my card and double with xfire

                                mb or gpu bios? i havnt touched bios for gpu,i dont know if the mb bios's improve gpu performance the cards styed the same with all the bios's ive used for the mb
