  • EasyTune6 Reference Voltages?

How do I tell what voltage the BIOS (EP45-UD3P Rev 1.6 BIOS version FE) is using when I set the CPU Reference, MCH Reference, MCH/DRAM Reference, DRAM Termination to AUTO? Looks like ET6 just shows the initial setting? I am using the latest version of ET6 that I just downloaded and installed from the Gigabyte web site.

When setting Cpu ref and MCH ref to auto the bios will must lickly stick them to default... Auto either doesnt do a damn thing to voltages or it WAY Over shoots them. If you go into bios look at your Cpu Termination setting and take note of it. Now set it to default 1.2 now set your cpu and mch refs to one step up from defualt 0.76 then set cpu term aka VTT back to what t was set at. You will se them change in ET. Dram Termination is adjusted by Dram voltage. for that Set vdimm to default 1.8 and set the termination to default or what ever setting you like then raise vdimm back up to where you had it.

      Re: EasyTune6 Reference Voltages?

Thanks for the reply. That is what we did for the Q9550 which ended up with a CPU Termination of 1.24v and a CPU Reference and MCH Reference of .825v. ET6 shows .800v?! Close enough I guess?! The reason the question came up is I have the CPU Termination set to 1.24v and a CPU Reference and MCH Reference set to AUTO on the E8500 system and it is stable at 4GHz. ET6 shows the default of .760v. Either I got lucky or the E8500 does not need the bump in Reference Voltages to get stable like the Q9550.

yes cpu ref and mch ref are for really big OC. or Helps out the quads get a big oc but nothing Huge. Easy tune should show you the settings of what you set of cpu ref and mch ref when you set them with vtt at 1.2. There might be a little diffrence it could be just in the software. Just remember dont adjust them in ET use the bios. You can ajust vcore, vtt, vmch in ET6 test then make those changes in BIOS.
