Cool! Always great to hear that!

Try these for 3.6 for now then and see how you get along with overclocking, and how temps are under load once you find a good Vcore.

( i dont know if i did it right but those are the settings i put )

it did not post.. just shut off... I tried many variations of vcore till 1.3 but I stopped there sine i saw someone get 4ghz @ 1.3 with same specs as me...

side note : So i decided to change my voltage on ram to 2.1 since thats what manufacture said it was ideal... So i loaded optimal settings + change to 2.1v on ram and the ram took longer to post... it was weird... is that normal...? but i went back to optimal since I was scared =]

        Re: GA-EP45-UD3P - Q9550 not posting correctly...

Same specs does not matter, all CPU's are very different so yours may need more than someone elses needs.

Go ahead and try 1.325-1.38 Vcore as I suggested and see if you get booting or not.

          Re: GA-EP45-UD3P - Q9550 not posting correctly...

Oh I finally got it to boot to OC.. most of it is standard but its running at 3.4ghz on compB

compB and compA has same specs all but different casing...
My compA is idles around 40 while and under load it goes to 60 should I be worried or its fine because the figures at the bottom compB gets a lot cooler on average.

Well I am on compA (not OC running stock) and I checked the core's temp at idle the variation is huge especially one is 27c (core1) and other is 40c (core3). Using 0 - 1 - 2 - 3 numbering system for cores.

          Here is pic

but during load ~5min it seems fine with ~3c variation... should I be worried about compA? (is it possible that i didn't put enough thermal compound on cpu)

            Re: GA-EP45-UD3P - Q9550 not posting correctly...

Those temps are fine, and the cores will always differ (Normally 2-4C difference, but can be up to 10C)

Your's is a bit above that, but it could be normal, or it could just mean you tightened the heatsink down uneven or have a uneven amount of past on the chip. You could try a few more mounts and see if you can get them any closer, or just leave it if you wanted.

See here is my idle temps I posted for someone the other day, you can see I have a large gap as well :)

            (25-37C difference)

Load temps within 3C sounds great, so if you wanted you could really ignore the idles temp differences unless it bothers you a lot.

Now if you still want to run 3.6 or above give me your current 3.4 settings you have working and I will advise back on how to get 3.6 going

You didn't say, what speed do you want to try?

I see you are using the .5 CPU multi, did you leave that enabled when you tried the settings I suggested before, if so that may be why they failed as I suggested to not use that and only use 8.

i did just 8 last time when attempting to go 3.8... i did most of the settings but i didnt change voltage much... just vcore to 1.3 then it didnt boot and gave up.

Ahh ok. Well you need to try voltages, don't be scared set it higher then you think you might need just so you can get booting, you can lower it later.

                    Try this for 3.6 again
