    Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

    Wath give the QPI ?
will give better perf if set to 6,4GTs than 4,8GTs ?

      Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

It is better for performance to use a higher QPI, but if you do you may need to raise QPI/Vtt voltage a little bit but not always especially at stock Bclk

        Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

Hi, I just bought a new kit:

        Board Gigabyte H57M-USB3
        Micro Intel Core i3 530
        Mem Mushkin BlackLine 10666 DDR3 1333 4GB 2x2GB CL7
        PSU Aero Cool 650W 80+

Everything assembled very carefully. When first turned on it tried to start the CPU fan and then turned off. Unplugged from AC, plugged again and started normally, now, I havent mannaged to install any OS, it keeps shutting down randomly. Sometimes its last a little bit more, so far, never more than 20. I've never mannaged to pass the Win 7 expanding files screen.

        Any help?

Can you please post us your full settings you are using in the MIT Section of the BIOS, template is in my signature.

If there is any additional settings you feel might be important that are left out of the template please add them in.

          Thanks

            Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

Ok, here are my current settings. Just an update, yesterday I tried again, first cleared CMOS, then load optimized defaults (the first three tries to power on it turned on all the phase leds and the proc fan and then shut down again). Every time I pressed F10 to save the settings to CMOS it shut down.
The ? is because I don't remember or does not appear in the BIOS.
One more thing about my memories, I've only installed one, in the white slot marked as 1 in the manual. The are Mushin Blackline 996677, 1.6V, DDR3 1333MHz, 7-7-7-20.

              Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

I would go ahead and put in both sticks of memory, then load optimized defaults again and save/apply/reboot.

              Then try these settings
              Code:

                Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

Done everything as you said. Same thing. Changed the PSU, everything went fine. Managed to install Windows 7 and run a stability test for more than 1 hour. Changed back to my old PSU, once it tries to load Win 7, it shuts down. I can edit BIOS settings, all fine but everytime I tried to boot and load Win 7 it shuts down at the same point, right before the logon screen load. Now for the funny part, my old PSU it's a Aero Cool 650W, 80+ and it was working perfectly in my other kit (Gigabyte G33M-DS2R, Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, 2x1GB DDR2 Kingston HyperX@667MHz, Ati 4770). The new PSU it's a generic and cheap 450W. I wonder, it's the Aero Cool shutting down the PC because of some sort of protection?

                  Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

Your old PSU may just have some incompatibility with this model board is all.

It's a very new model so I am sure it will be a while before all the kinks are worked out in the BIOS. Send in a report about this, so they can try to test if they have this PSU and then if they find the same issue they can try to add compatibility for it in the BIOS

I doubt it has anything at all to do with protection, probably just not compatible is all this happens more often then you would think even with high end boards and PSU's.

Thanks, let us know what they say. They may be unable to test it though, unless that have that exact PSU, but it is good you let them know about it.

So is your cheaper new one still working fine?

                        Re: GA-H57M-USB3 Issues

hey guys i just purchased a GIGABYTE GA-H57M-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel H57 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
im running windows 7 ultimate 64bit
                        i tryed installing 8 gigs of CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model
so now every time i try loading the operating system it goes to the welcome sign and randomly shuts down.
so what i did is take out the 1 pair and it boots up fine, no hang ups or nothing.
so i went and just for ****z and giggles (sorry if anyone got offended by that) inserted just another stick of memory making it 3 sticks total 6 gigs booted up fine and ran fine. looked at my computer properties and read 6 gigs. post read 6, and change and memory ok. Now 20 min. or so later it shut down on me again.

now i started this as a new build
                        running a:
                        1> Intel Core i5-650 Clarkdale 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
                        2> Noctua NH-U12P SE2 120mm SSO CPU Cooler
                        3> 2 pairs of CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
4> Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EARS 1TB 5400 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
                        5> and 650w psu

now i replaced the motherboard thinking it was shot but did the same thing wouldnt boot up, so then i took 1 pair of 4 gigs sticks and worked fine. so then i though the other pair of memory sticks were bad b/c i replaced it with the pair that i had originally there when it worked and it still did not boot. so i sent it back and got a new pair and the same thing. the o.s wont get past welcome before it shut down.

                            yea i did that

what im gonna try to do is make sure its at 9-9-9-24 and its at 2T or 2N depending if its at a refresh rate or command rate and see if my mem voltage is at 1.65 and my QPI voltage is at 1.45 or 1.5 try that using 1600 frequency if not im gonna try to drop it down to 1333 and see if that takes!!
                            what do you guys think????

                              GA-H57M-USB3 Motherboard - How'z the board performing?

                              Dear Supermounter,

Hi There! I am still waiting for a positive response from everybody here to let me know if all the issues with this Gigabyte GA-H57M-USB3 Motherboard has been resolved. Only then I can go ahead and buy this new motherboard else it will be a waste of investment. So, starting with you first, are you now satisfied with this motherboard or are you still facing the same or any other issues with this board? How is it performing? Did it live upto your expectations or beyond that maybe? What all challenges have you been facing with this motherboard off lately?

And have you utilized all the features available on this motherboard more importantly, USB 3 usage and HDMI & "Display Port"? I wonder how "Display Port" is going to help and when compared to HDMI connection. Where is this Display Port used in? How is the sound system of the onboard as this Gigabyte motherboard claims to have Dolby Surround effect?

And how is the overall temperature of the motherboard when run for a long time....(As it has 2 ounces of Copper to keep the board cool)?

Kindly let me know the answers to my questions asked above please.....

                              Regards,
                              Apoorva.

Hi There! Has your issue finally resolved? Are you satisfied with your Gigabyte GA-H57M-USB3 motherboard? Any difficulties that you are still facing? And as I asked few questions as seen above to Supermounter, could you too answer those questions and share your piece of experience with this motherboard?

                                Regards,

                                Micro Intel Core i3 530

Everything assembled very carefully. When first turned on it tried to start the CPU fan and then turned off. Unplugged from AC, plugged again and started normally, now, I havent mannaged to install any OS, it keeps shutting down randomly. Sometimes its last a little bit more, so far, never more than 20. I've never mannaged to pass the Win 7 expanding files screen.

                                Any help?
