Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x00259C90C125. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

have you mistakenly plugged the case power switch wires on the reset mb pins and vice versa?

No, and its been fine for ages, only had a problem since today.

You said that code was to do with a network error/modem etc.. looking in device manager i see

microsoft virtual wifi miniport adaptor #2 - Looking on my flatmates pc he doesnt have this. Now my internet is through a dongle but ive already got a driver for it which is seperate, the Virtual miniport thing is new to me and im guessing may be the problem. Im going to uninstall it but get the feeling it may reinstall when i restart the pc.

Sticking? The buttons are fine, i.e. reset is reset, power works if you hold it down etc... Or are you saying sticking as in its powering it back on somehow? If the button was sticking like that wouldnt it turn it back off when i was on the net etc?

What happens is the pc powers down completely, then after 3-4 seconds of being off just starts up on its own again and boots into windows like id turned it on, Will do this regardless of whether i press the button on the pc to turn it off or through windows

it was just a thought,it seems like something is waking it up from when its turned off,you mentioned a wifi thing had installed itself? another thing you could try is to reset the cmos by removing mb battery for 30mins then re install and try

is cmos likely to do much out of interest?

Any idea what crash control auto reboot is? Seems if there is a hardware failure its set to reboot, though what failure ive occured overnight im not so sure.

cmos will just reset everything sometimes its better to remove mb battery than using button on the back, set auto reboot to off and see if it fixes it

Auto reboot is there for a reason though im guessing as its enabled on my flatmates pc with no probs.

                      Event id shows.....

Event ID 11 - Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. The system administrator should review the list of libraries to ensure they are related to trusted applications.
Event ID 4001 - WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully stopped.

it just means it will reboot if it crashes and not stay off,try with it disabled and see if it has any affect on restarting, it might still think theres an hardware error and there isnt so its worth trying,if it doesnt do anything then enable it again

Ok, well i disabled it, turned it off and it still turned back on a few seconds later - am stumped :S

Event ID 1 - Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller is disconnected from network.

Thankfully the problem has now gone LSD in regards to it turning itself back off, needed a cmos reset.

And now ive getting even further in linx at 4.2ghz as only minor adjustments seem to be needed compared to before so is all good :)

Backed it back down to 4.0ghz (which could prob do with some minor adjustments) and temps are great. 4.2ghz was needed quite a bit more vcore sadly to not BSOD which in turn caused too much heat.

I "believe" with LinX if it says "failed upon error" it means it wants more VTT slightly... this is what ive found so far in my testing anyway.
