  • BIOS Update GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P

I bought the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard last year. I flashed the latest BIOS in last week. The issue I have is I was running the OS off two hard drives in RAID 1. After the flash It did not keep the OS in RAID 1. The first drive shows up as C: and it boots from it. The second drive is a single drive RAID 1 with the second drive missing (degraded RAID).

How can I fix this? (Vista 64)

Note which disk that now became the system disk. disk 0 or disk 1. Typically it will be disk 0.
    Enter Raid Configuration Utility
Remove disk 1 from the Raid-volume.
The raid set is still active now, but with only one disk, and the second one as "degrade volume"
Then reinstall disk 1 to the mirror raid set.
Now the array should start to rebuild.

Updating BIOS will change RAID setting in BIOS to IDE, so change it back.

You shouldnt have to rebuild the array. Just renter the bios and switch ide back to raid. save and exit then renter raid bios if doesnt look like everything is normal. Everything should be the way it was unless your bios was so old that this update updated the raid rom also. In that case follow as above to rebuild the array.
