Using EasyTune Quickboost

Hi everybody,

I have a following question as I'm not too big in overclocking and I would like to use Quickboost to make my CPU frequency run higher. If I use it will it cause any unstability without me changing any voltages? Because I'm not good at overclocking and everytime I do it something always goes wrong.

I have a Core i7 950 and I would like to use Level 3 which will bring my CPU up to 3.68Ghz.

click the link in my sig for 3.8ghz overclock,just set the bclk to 160 instead of 180,and set your ram timing to your ram something like 8-8-8-26 command rate 1T,easytune isnt reliable enuff and will overvolt things if left on auto voltages

Your CPU has TurboBoost technology which will automatically overclock your CPU as long as it remains cool enough under load.

If you want more than Turbo Boost will give you, do not use EasyTune to get it. Simply raise you Bclk slightly until the CPU is at the required frequency, then lower your RAM multiplier to keep it at its rated speed. For a small OC to 3.6GHz you probably won't need any Vcore increase.

Using ET6, especially with the higher levels of boost will result in instability, random crashes and worst case, data corruption/loss. Always OC manually. If you follow the many many guides available on the web you won't make a mistake. It just requires that you get familiar with what each motherboard setting and voltage does. If someone can't get to grips with that then IMO they should not be overclocking because they won't be able to deal with issues if things go wrong and will constantly be asking "What do I do next". OCing should be a natural progression of things that work for your set of components and the answer to "What do I do next" is up to your Rig and needs to be found out by you.
