  • EP45-UD3R won't post w/ PCI-X after CMOS reset

Hey guys , I found out my computer will post and that the cmos has been reset, it just won't work if a pci-express card is in.

I tried my card in my roomate's computer so I know there is nothing wrong with it. I had been using this card for over a year and just today reset CMOS and it will no longer work.

I updated to F11 still nothing.

    Any suggestions?

As an update I think its a driver problem because I can boot under the PCI card witih the Xpress card in and it gives me code 31. I'm trying to somehow fix the driver for the card if that all fails i may try vista repair or reinstall.

    Any tips still appreciated.

It depends at what point the boot process fails. If you can't even get a picture on the monitor and the PC won't POST or even power on, then it is nothing to do with the card drivers. The drivers are loaded by Windows at the Windows loading screen. If the PC is hanging at this screen it could be the drivers. Boot into safe Mode (press F8 before the PC starts loading Windows), uninstall the drivers and restart the machine. If it now boots in normal mode, download the latest GPU drivers and see if that fixes the problem.
