    Re: +200 BCLK GA-X58 ud5

What Model Mushkins? They do have the same timings as mine though, so they are likely 998679 just with the radioactive heatsink is all.

You can see my signature for several sets of settings for this kit, same kit you have.

You should be able to switch your ram timings right to 787-20 with the above settings, did you try yet?

      Hi.
Mine are 998679r, and i think are the sames than yours.
I have used your CL7 signature configuration, and system failure with prime95 in only three seconds.
I dont know what to do . I will try another setthings, but i think i can be at the cpu oc limit.

      Thanks.

        Re: +200 BCLK GA-X58 ud5

Yeap, same ones then just the different heatsink is all.

Ok, well CL7, did you meant 787-20? Prime failing that fast is normally Vcore, but in this case could also be QPI/Vtt. Did you memtest86+ first? I always do a few quick runs with test 2/5/7 before I decide if the memory is stable enough for any other testing.

What was your full settings you are now trying and I will advise back

Hi again, and thanks for your time.

I have passed memtest+86 to my ram, and one round passed without error.
Here is my bios. Please, see all setting if something is wrong.

          See you.

            Re: +200 BCLK GA-X58 ud5

You need to run 5-10 full passes of Memtest, or several rounds of 2/5/7

Please use a template next time, that is a lot of images to look at and it is very hard to advise back to you that way

Use Expert not quick, and set each channel one by one to the same values. If you are using x64 OS you need to change HPET setting to x64

You did not show any voltage images? Anyway, please use a template next time if you don't mind, thanks!

                It's cool, no worries.

It's just easier for us to see all the relevant settings and help you that way.

To the OP: how did this go? were you ever able to break the 200bclk barrier?

For the record I have the exact same problem... x21 multi with <200 bclk yields stable config... >200 bclk even with lower cpu and ram multi fails.

I am using F9k as well but had the same problem before upgrading bios.

I wonder if there are a batch of UD5's that have this issue?

the CPU is a D0 and has been shown to be stable at derived clock >4.1Ghz

                  but not when bclk >200

you should be able to clock past 200bclk i can without issues, just keep trying with voltages ect

thanks for the encouragement... i do intend to keep trying - but...

the fact that it is not working, in a very similar way, for several people - even with settings identical to yours does raise the possibility of a MB flaw.

unfortunately there are so many other variables too

amount of RAM and and supported timings, CPU batch, bios version, etc... MB batch is certainly one of these variables too that could be the problem.

I have carefully read this thread and dozens of others (thank you and lsd) and understand much from the experiments of others about what *should* work - it is just not working here.

I suppose eventually I should try to content myself that I am able to get 3.99Ghz with bclk 190 x 21 Vcore 1.28-1.3 . just can't seem to let it go though since my temps are so good at this level (thankyou megahalem shadow).

i have a b batch chip but i wouldnt say its that thats restricting you,you could always ebay your mb and try a new one? or wait till the newer faster usb3/sata3 ud5a boards come out or wait till the gulftown chips arrive....thats if the 200+bclk bothers you that much

                            Re: +200 BCLK GA-X58 ud5

Well - I am going to call it quits... plenty of configs with 200+ bclk but none that are stable... and even then seem to require outrageous QPI/VTT.. I swapped in new PSU which helped (5 v rail was sagging down on my puny 600W OCZ ModXstream) and relaxed memory timings QPI/Uncore multi's... and tweaked advanced dram settings to finally get it to behave. The limiting issues seem to me at this point my 12gb of ram and a possible weak IMC. (brw, Gigabyte says in the mem chart that they do not support 1600 with 6 sticks...) at least I can't make it happen with these TR3X6G1600C8Gs.

                            so I am settling for 4.11Ghz 21x196 Vcore 1.31 (as reported), IOH 1.22, QPI/Vtt 1.555, CPU PLL 1.9, QPI PLL 1.3 ICH 1.22

                            QPI x36 uncore x14

                            mem x6

777-20-1 timing (with major adv. dram timing tweaks)

max temps (mprime) coming in low to mid 70s (68-76)...

oops - just as I was writing this it croaked during a loooooong mprime run.

                            rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

seem to be *very* close though

ok... have now loosened timings once again to 8-8-8-22-1... a touch more QPI PLL 1.34 ... a dash of IOH 1.28 - stir in some Vcore 1.33... bake in prime95 until done...
