"backup bios image to hdd"?

Is there any benefit to me turning on this option in my BIOS?

FYI, I have a Windows 7 installation which is working perfectly fine, don't want to pooch it.

My system:
EX58-UD4P
i7-920
6GB G.Skill
GTX 275
Win7 x64
etc.


EDIT: Also, the reason I ask is because my manual does not mention this setting at all. In fact, in the screenshot of this BIOS screen in my manual, this setting is missing. Guess it was added by a later update.

some users have had boot issues with the hard drive trying to find the backed up bios,its better to save it to a memory stick and use that to back up bios instead....but its your choice.personally i dont use it as its dual bios anyway and it will back itself up

I suppose it's a useful option in the event that both the main and backup BIOS' go t1ts up. That's going to be a virtual non event though.

I've got this option disabled, as I'm sure have most others. I personally don't want my motherboard writing to my HDD's, especially if the BIOS is stored in a non user data area of the drive.
