I just did a clean install of vista ult. 64 sp1 and updated to windows 7 ult. 64 .In the device manager it says:RAID Controller-The driver for this device are not installed.(code 28).I've spent enough time trying to fix this problem I could have done a complete reinstall.Could somebody please give me some advice, so I can stop running in circles.

    Re: raid controller

What ports are you using for your RAID array? You're best off using the yellow Intel ports.

If using the JMicron, there are drivers for it on the Gigabyte website. I strongly recommend you don't use these ports, as they aren't too good performance wise, especially with high throughput devices.

I'm assuming you're currently typing this on the machine, so it's bootable. Again, assuming that your OS is installed on the two Raptors, and that thay are set up in RAID 0, there doesn't seem to be much of a problem with regards to drivers. If RAID drivers were actually missing, then your PC would not boot to Windows.

Again, check that the two Raptors are on Intel SATA ports 0 and 1, and that the DVD drive and data drive are on ports 4 and 5. In the Intel BIOS it should indicate that both Raptors are in the Array and that the storage drive is connected, but a non-RAID member.
