        Re: Problem overclock Q6600 + EP45-DS3l

Who suggested that much MCH, that is what I was concerned with. I thought you may be able to use less MCH if you tried more Vtt (CPU Termination) and or Vcore instead.

We only offer advice or suggestions, please do not take anyone's reply as what you must use or all that you will need to use, you may need more or less of any suggestion. Just trying to let you know that you will need to try various things until you get a stable starting point is all.

          Re: Problem overclock Q6600 + EP45-DS3l

I hope I didnt cause you to raise your MCH too high, Back in the third post I said you may need to raise it a little, that was just a statement in that with that much ram you probably would need more then stock.

It is safe still, I just wanted him to understand that it may not need to be all that high and he should adjust other things as well before thinking he must use that much

              Re: Problem overclock Q6600 + EP45-DS3l

With PLL 1.550 and Mem 2.00Bdoesnt boot into OS. Stopped in ntdetect.
About ICH core - i have only option ICH I/O in BIOS, Set to Auto.
              MCH Set to 1.28.

Think memory doesn't allow to be high, so really tanx to all for helping.
Maybe i dont need 3.6... Or have to change motherboard.

                Re: Problem overclock Q6600 + EP45-DS3l

3.6 is tough to get stable on a Q6600, it is not plug and play.

Please post full settings for your above PLL and 2.00B comments, without full settings we can't see what you are trying

:-( now with safe settings 8x266 i can see only one DIMM 4Gb in OS, while CPU-Z shows the 4x4 DIMMs....

Fail safe is never suggested if that is what you meant, that would be why. Go back to your 3.4 settings

                      Re: Problem overclock Q6600 + EP45-DS3l

Reinstalled OS, now all 4 DIMM are accessible, memtest passed.

I want to say great THANKS to all for helping, but seems my DS3L will not correctly handle Q6600 at 3600, so i decided to change motherboard to GA- EP45-DS5.
Think it will be better and moresafe for memory and for CPU.

That board will be the same really since it is the same chipset, some Q6600's just will not do 3.6Ghz without crazy voltages. You may have one
