• HDD to SSD saved game files RE5 & Fallout 3

hey all , i know this is kinda in the wrong section. I switched over everything on STEAM from my HDD to my new Intel SSD. All the games are running perfectly so far. However , my Resident evil 5 and fallout 3 saved games are not recognized. When i sign into Games for windows live , it shows my progress for each but i cannot continue where i left off.

I have everything backed up so if someone knows which files are the ones required , please point me in the right direction. Im doing all i can right now to figure this out. I had just uncovered every location in Fallout and was ready to finish off the game and am in chapter 6 of Resident Evil 5 and would hate to lose it.

    Any ideas?

you have to find your save game files best to type "game save" or "save" in search or try n find them yourself there probably in my documents/games or something just copy the save files to your new drive, also you might need to create folders and name it my documents then inside that my games then inside that fallout 3 then another folder named saves then put the files in that...ive just looked mine are in my documents/my games/fallout3/saves

Re: HDD to SSD saved game files RE5 & Fallout 3

Got it. found something on gamespot saying the same. did the same with my Resident Evil save. Was a little worried about that one since my live profile was showing achievements, but no saved game could be loaded. Also, RE5 is new to PC and there is no threads anywhere on it.

I basically did the same as i did with fallout. Documents, capcom, RE5, copied savedata.bin - hope somebody else can find this handy .

Thanks all- that was a quicky.

If I'm backing up Steam, rather than using the Steam utility, which doesn't save custom maps (ie TF2, CS:S etc), I will use a zip utility such as 7-Zip and use it's Ultra compression setting which is very good. Also It's worth noting too where your saved games are kept and to back them up seperately to say a zipped file.
