I agree with everyone else here. Either wait for ATI's 58XX series which is reportedly around 50% faster than any current single GPU card (IE 285 GTX) or again, wait for the price of 260 GTX's to drop rapidly and pick up another one for SLI (if your mobo can do SLI).
I've recently purchased another HD 4850 for Crossfire, but only because the price has dropped by so much. Unless you game at above 1920x1080 / 1920x1200 then currently not much will tax your 260.
As always, it may be worth waiting even longer, no doubt the first crop of DX11 cards will be nothing compared to the second generation. It's like the HD 2xxx vs the HD3xxx and HD4xxx, there were big performance leaps each time. I must admit though, the HD 2xxx were very weak cards compared to Nvidia's 8800 series.

I agree wait for 2nd generation dx11's. Find a good deal on another gtx 260 for sli, they will handle anything on max settings for a while and much cheaper than the 295 so save that cash and pick up a sweet card in the future.
